What is a battery energy storage system?
A battery energy storage system (BESS or ESS) combines a battery, an inverter and a management system. It stores electricity from the grid, solar panels or a generator and supplies it during outages, at peak tariff hours or when solar output drops.
Which countries do you serve?
StIv energy supplies energy storage equipment in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan from its office in Almaty.
What capacity range can you supply?
From a 1 kW off-grid inverter and a 2.56 kWh battery to 418 kWh commercial cabinets and 5.5 MWh containers rated up to 3.45 MW. Larger projects combine several containers.
Why LiFePO4 rather than lead-acid?
LiFePO4 batteries last 6,000–10,000 cycles, allow deep discharge, need no maintenance and are the most thermally stable lithium chemistry, which makes them the standard for stationary storage.
Should I choose a generator or battery storage?
For short, infrequent outages a battery system is simpler: it switches over in milliseconds, runs silently and needs no fuel. For frequent or long outages and off-grid sites, the best option is a hybrid: a petrol, diesel or gas generator connected to a hybrid inverter with batteries. The battery carries the load instantly and the generator only runs to recharge it at efficient load, cutting fuel use and engine hours.
Do you work with installers and EPC contractors?
Yes. We supply equipment for installers, solar EPC contractors and distributors across Central Asia and help with system configuration. Contact us to discuss terms.
